The effect of adding another zero is a handmade, hardcover, cloth-bound photo book I printed and bound using the Secret Belgian Binding technique. The portfolio contains 19 color photographs printed on rag paper. 

The effect of adding another zero is a concise collection of photographs taken in 2018. Editing my photos throughout the year and compiling them annually has become a ritual for me. Generally, that is not the way photography is edited or presented. However, it is my way for now as I work towards a greater understanding of the themes in my work.

The book’s unique and mysterious Secret Belgian Binding allows for the photographs to lay flat. In what appears to be a bit of magic, the binding also allows for the book’s covers to wrap around underneath the book. Each page in the portfolio is perforated to allow the photograph to be removed from the book.
